Phi Phi, Thailand Nights

After we got back and had our not so hot shower, we relaxed for a bit before figuring out where to go for nice man at the front desk suggested a good Indian place and we all decided a change up in our diet would be great. We have been having a lot of Thai food.

The mosquitoes in phi phi were insane and very itchy and I had not brought many long sleeve/pants options, so I wanted to find a shawl or some pants that I could wear to combat the mosquitoes. I found a beautiful dark blue shawl with elephants on it that I absolutely love! There are so many cute  things buy at the shops there.

After shopping, we went to dinner and enjoyed our Indian food. At first our food didn't come with rice which was strange for Indian so we had to order some for like 75 American cents.

Dinner was cheap(ish) and delicious and not Thai and after we went to the beach. The tide was very far out so the beach was very long. The bars on the beach were already pumping some music trying to get people to come to their place and it was only 8:30. We stopped at one place where they had lounging chairs and soon enough their fire show started! Fire shows are always fun to watch, they're mesmerizing with the twirling flame. We sat and watched for awhile while the techno music got louder and louder.

Some time later we decided to head into a different place off the beach. On the way we got ourselves a bucket. The buckets were sold everywhere and you could get your choice of mixed drink in them. Ty and I split a margarita from some really nice ladies' stall. We enjoyed our margarita and then went to a boxing bar that my friends boyfriend, justin wanted to go to. He wanted to fight himself and we were there to support him. After watching a few fights (I'm not really into boxing), I started getting a little bored and Justin didn't end up fighting so Ty and I went back to the beach were all the action was. We didn't stay super long as the music was loud and the crowd was a little too crazy for us so we walked back to the hotel.

The next morning was a rough one for a few of us because of having too much fun and for me, definitely not getting enough sleep. Also, it was pouring rain again and that always makes me want to keep sleeping. We all woke up a bit late and went to a place for some western breakfast. Ty very much enjoyed his eggs since he hasn't had them all week! I enjoyed a really delicious smoothie with some waffles that were ok.

Ty, Brooke and I wanted to get Thai massages so we went to a place together and got a triples massage! Haha. All the beds are next to each other and you lay down with all your clothes on, the women were so nice and I'm pretty sure they were talking about us in Thai. At one point the woman pointed to my knee, i could feel it, and she said some thing to the other women. I giggled to myself. I have a weird growth from a condition i had in high school called osgood-schlatters (I can't spell it). I wonder what else they talked about!

Thai massages are more focused on your joints and so they move your body around and stretch you, it's quite nice. We all felt super relaxed afterwards.

We had a little bit of time so Brooke, Ty and I decided to hike to the viewpoint. The weather had cleared up a bit which was super nice. There were tons of stairs that got increasingly more steep as we got further up. It was worth the hike because there was a beautiful view at the top. Phi phi viewpoint. We stopped to take pictures and then went on to the second viewpoint which had an even more stunning view!

We were all glistening a little because of the humidity and the sun decided to poke out a bit.

We could only spend a little bit of time at the top because we all had to go run to get our ferry back to Phuket.

During the two hour ferry ride they were playing avatar he movie and so we all got drawn into it. It's such a good movie that I haven't seen in years.

It was super nice getting back to our condo and we all decided that a relaxing night would be the best since we were all exhausted. I was falling asleep even before our pizza came. Yes we ordered out pizza! It was alright. We got a thin crust and a thick crust, the thin crust tasted like jacks frozen pizza and the thick crust tasted like chuckie cheese's pizza. But pizza is pizza and it was delicious.

We watched some That 70's Show and then I thought I had an interview so we went back to the room and the call never came... I had my times wrong so I stayed up late even though I didn't have to! Interview on Monday evening...

The Cake Fairy

Today was a pretty standard weekend here in PA. I dont do much but hope that its nice out so I can go for a walk and explore on my own, but the sun didnt come shining through my window this morning to wake me up. I slept in. After a few hours of lounging around watching youtube videos about history, I asked Cassie if she wanted to explore the town. We decided to take a visit to a local winery/brewery, Stone & Key Cellars, to do some tastings. They had quite the spread of things to taste and we were overwhelmed! Fruit wines and your typical whites and reds, cider and mede! I started out with some of the red fruit wines and Cassie with the white fruits. They were all a bit sweet for me so I moved right into the bold reds. We got four tastings each and shared our tastes but also, the bartender was super cool and gave us more tastings of whatever he wanted! He was talking to us about the local area and what breweries to check out next in our exploration of Pennsylvania. Going to ...

Bio Bay, PR positives

The coolest part of our trip to Puerto Rico was definitely the Bioluminescent Bay in Vieques [side note, bioluminescence is a big word, mostly it just means stuff that lights up but scientifically it means 'bio'-life, 'lumin'-light, 'escence'-to put forth. So, life that puts forth light!] It was an experience that I cannot easily put into words. The night started out a bit strange. We got picked up at our hostel at 9pm, along with 5 other girls, by a thirty-something, long-haired gentleman. He walked us about a block to the van that would transport us to the bio-bay. The van was, well, to put it nicely, a fixer-upper. It had bench seats which were collapsing, the roof fabric was falling down, it puttered around and squeaked during turns. Ty and I joked that we were paying 40 bucks to get murdered in this van especially when we turned down a dirt, side street that was full of pot holes. We slowly lumbered along this road for a few minutes until we made it to our ...

Eating Like Crap is Crap

Im trying really hard not to spend money on food as there is so much food here at camp. Its not horrible food but its definitely not the best. So, with me trying not to spend money on food, I haven't been eating the greatest. I don't know if its because of other reasons, but Ive been feeling like shit lately and Im attributing it to lack of nutrients. I dont know how people eat crap all the time and survive. It must be a skill. I was eating alright about two weeks ago but this last week it hasn't been very pretty. Ive been a scavenger and theres been a lot of bread and fake meat and here is how I feel: Im tired ALL the time. No matter how many naps I take or hours I sleep a night, Im always exhausted by mid-day and just want to lay around, sleep and do nothing. Ive also been starting to get weak headaches throughout the day. Or having sore muscles from doing minimal exercise. That also makes me just want to do nothing. My stomach is also crazy. It hurts if I eat som...
