Role Models

We currently live in a world where people look to movie stars and musicians as their role models.

This is what it is doing to our society:
We focus on the superficial
We worry about who's dating who
We become more concerned about our looks then what really matters
We know more about Kim Kardashian then simple math
We knock others down to bring ourselves up
We aren't thinking...

Our younger generation is being blinded by lights to what truly matters in life:

Learning, growing and loving.

Once our role models change, we will see a change in our nation.
What about Pope Francis? He spreads acceptance and love.
What about Neil DeGrasse Tyson? He speaks with amazing knowledge.
What about Bill Nye? The science guy?

Have you known anyone who has made a difference who says their role model was Nicki Minaj?

I just hope that people will learn to move on. Think about what really matters in the world. Move past hate, grudges and lies to open-mindedness, being present and kindness.

Keep learning and growing as a human. None of us is perfect and thats the beauty of it; we can continue to better ourselves and our environment, without putting others down.

What truly matters in this world is way bigger then you.

The Cake Fairy

Today was a pretty standard weekend here in PA. I dont do much but hope that its nice out so I can go for a walk and explore on my own, but the sun didnt come shining through my window this morning to wake me up. I slept in. After a few hours of lounging around watching youtube videos about history, I asked Cassie if she wanted to explore the town. We decided to take a visit to a local winery/brewery, Stone & Key Cellars, to do some tastings. They had quite the spread of things to taste and we were overwhelmed! Fruit wines and your typical whites and reds, cider and mede! I started out with some of the red fruit wines and Cassie with the white fruits. They were all a bit sweet for me so I moved right into the bold reds. We got four tastings each and shared our tastes but also, the bartender was super cool and gave us more tastings of whatever he wanted! Quarantine Day: 6+?

This morning I woke up before the sun and taught some kiddos English. I had all my favorite students today which makes getting up early worth it. Then I had my morning computer time and went on a deep dive into this Facebook group called "House Plant Hobbyist". Its seriously the best group on FB ever. Lots of people post about plants, literally anything about plants and everyone in the group is so supportive and positive. I love it. It makes me happy. I probably spent about 45 minutes just looking at plants and posting suggestions and comments... Yoga time was next. I wanted to get out before the sun took up the backyard space. Theres a nice concrete patch thats perfect for my mat. It was in the shade for my whole practice! I did a long and slow flow and felt super calm and connected after. St. John, A Beautiful Adventure

My time off from work has been awesome so far! I love not working. haha. Monday, Amber, Darren, a friend Johnny and I went on a boat adventure over to St. John. It was a small boat just a bit larger than the size of a dingy but it worked! The ride over was bumpy and rough. My butt still hurts a few days later but we got to see St. John from the water and a brown booby (bird) flew with us for awhile which was awesome. Then we found a beautiful cove with a tiny beach and pristine blue water. We pulled the boat in and set the anchor but decided to pull in a little closer, when "well thats odd" came out of our captains mouth. I decided not to worry. Amber and I jumped into the blue water to explore. We got stung by a few things in the water so then got out and tried to track down the goats that were yelling like humans in the mangroves.
