Epic Summerfest Night

So My last day at summerfest started with me really not wanting to go. I wanted to see the bands but I was having a lame day, focused on writing a cover letter and being tired.
But the fest waits for no one and Sarah was meeting me there!

I got to summerfest and noticed that it wasn't too busy like last weekend, plus number one.
I walked over to Big Data who were pretty cool. They had some good energy on stage and the music was danceable! Then as I was sitting listening to Big Data, I got completely taken out on my left side.  It was so fast that I didn't even see it coming and then I look in the direction of the impact and notice a smiling brown haired girl. SARAH!! I was so happy to see this crazy lady!

And this is why I missed her. First, she made me get my face painted, which I wasn't too upset about cause I love stuff like that. So we had awesome neon, tribal paint on our faces. Then, we are over at the small KNE stage listening to a local band when Sarah suggests going on the ferris wheel. Im very hesitant since its a bit of money and seems kinda lame but she's practically begging me to go, so I give in. We wait in a looooong line and end up in the same cart thing as two little girls who were super sweet. Once we got to the top of the ferris wheel, we looked around and saw a TON of fireworks from all the surrounding towns! There were at least ten different sets of 'works that we saw and it was super cool! It was money well spent!

After the ferris wheel, it was time for me to go to Robert Delong. Sarah and her friends stopped by for a bit before checking out some other acts but I was more than happy enjoying the concert alone. The atmosphere there was pretty chill (except for the group of teens who were going crazy in the corner) and it wasn't too packed, I got up pretty close in the standing room. At one point during the concert, some girl walked up to me and offered me a glowstick. I offered her my arm and she put it on. I said thank you and continued to dance.

Also the music was INSANE. In a good way. He was a DJ but was super creative about it. It was just him and he played the drums, keyboard, multiple synths and sang. He used a joystick, x-box controller and wii controller to make different noises, it was so interesting! I couldn't stop myself from dancing because the music just got inside my body. The rhythm and bass just snuck into your soul! I couldn't help but have a grin on my face for the whole concert as I watched him and looked around at all the other painted faces moving in the crowd. Ive never done drugs and after this concert, I don't understand why you would ever want to. I was so high on life and happy that I didn't need them.

I left that concert so jazzed that I rode my bike so fast over to the apartment where people were hanging out. I walked in, sweaty from the bike, with my face painted and a glowstick and yelled "The party is here!" To which my friends just said "heeeeeeey!" with hugs. The fact that I looked like I had just came from a rave or something didn't even phase them. This is why I love my friends.

"Meghan, it seems as if you got a little something on your face..."

Bio Bay, PR positives

The coolest part of our trip to Puerto Rico was definitely the Bioluminescent Bay in Vieques [side note, bioluminescence is a big word, mostly it just means stuff that lights up but scientifically it means 'bio'-life, 'lumin'-light, 'escence'-to put forth. So, life that puts forth light!] It was an experience that I cannot easily put into words. The night started out a bit strange. We got picked up at our hostel at 9pm, along with 5 other girls, by a thirty-something, long-haired gentleman. He walked us about a block to the van that would transport us to the bio-bay. The van was, well, to put it nicely, a fixer-upper. It had bench seats which were collapsing, the roof fabric was falling down, it puttered around and squeaked during turns. Ty and I joked that we were paying 40 bucks to get murdered in this van especially when we turned down a dirt, side street that was full of pot holes. We slowly lumbered along this road for a few minutes until we made it to our ...

Eating Like Crap is Crap

Im trying really hard not to spend money on food as there is so much food here at camp. Its not horrible food but its definitely not the best. So, with me trying not to spend money on food, I haven't been eating the greatest. I don't know if its because of other reasons, but Ive been feeling like shit lately and Im attributing it to lack of nutrients. I dont know how people eat crap all the time and survive. It must be a skill. I was eating alright about two weeks ago but this last week it hasn't been very pretty. Ive been a scavenger and theres been a lot of bread and fake meat and here is how I feel: Im tired ALL the time. No matter how many naps I take or hours I sleep a night, Im always exhausted by mid-day and just want to lay around, sleep and do nothing. Ive also been starting to get weak headaches throughout the day. Or having sore muscles from doing minimal exercise. That also makes me just want to do nothing. My stomach is also crazy. It hurts if I eat som...
